She has consistently played leading roles in her career of 28 years, which include building the electronic trading system for Borsa Istanbul (BIST) in early 1990s, managing all of the research and development activities of Karma International in the second half of 1990s, a 10 year period in Doğan Holding, (one of Turkey’s largest conglomerates) with positions including Group Director responsible for Media Sales, Marketing and Technology in Doğan Gazetecilik and later the General Manager of Doğan Online’s private shopping site.
After managing the country-wide operations of the global personalization technology company Phorm in 2012-2013, she started her own business in digital media and e-commerce.
Currently, Çiğdem Toraman also has responsibilities as a business advisor to and executive board member of several startups (Monument, Segmentify, Visionteractive, SmartModeration, Sixa, Eventbaxx, RadMule Labs, The Meditation App, Thread In Motion, Poltio, Genz). She teaches classes on marketing, e-commerce, digital and social media, business development, sales and entrepreneurship at several universities and corporate companies.
Aydin Birik is the Managing Director of Starcamp International Incubation and Acceleration program in Palo Alto. Founded by five prestigious technology universities of Turkey, Starcamp helps international early stage-to growth stage tech companies expand their business into global scale by providing access to funding and mentorship.
Aydin has 15+ years of project and product management experience at global high-tech companies. He is an entrepreneur, startup mentor, trainer, judge, and investor. He has a track record of developing several successful B2c, B2B digital products that are launched by leading NYSE – traded global communication technology company having more than 68.9 million customers in 9 countries.
He has secured substantial revenue increases from new product development and channel partnerships. Curated disruptive business models by engaging with 7,000+ people, evaluating 500+ new product ideas on average yearly.
He has strong background at agile, scrum, user trials, pricing, startups, prototyping, project management, strategic alliances, ecosystem development, lean business model validation, product design, product innovation and new venture structuring.
Besides his professional career, he took the role as Chapter President of Junior Chamber International. Directed the nationwide fundraiser to raise money for the UN Project, a goal also supported by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. He has also selected and led US State funded Emerging Leader Civil Society/Social Enterprise Exchange Program.

Along with Reid Hoffman and Ben Casnocha, he is the author of NYT bestseller “The Alliance” and with Reid Hoffman of “Blitzscaling,” to be published in October 2018.

He founded AIM, a Hubspot partner agency,was Marketing leader for navigation startup Metropia, VP Business Development for fast-scaling healthcare company Passport Health, CEO of Louisville Stoneware and Director of Corporate Strategy at Brown-Forman Corp.
As Director of the Venture Accelerator at Arizona State University, ranked #1 in the US for innovation, he developed the startup curriculum and managed an accelerator with 125+ startups and 600+ mentors. He is also General Partner of Wasabi Ventures Global, Chief Mentor at European Innovation Academy, and co-author of two books.
